1. 顱顏面部占全身的比例由出生開始到成年逐漸下降；但顏面部占整個頭顱的比例，在幼兒期比在成年要小，是因為顏面部在出生後有較多成長
2. 依照Cephalocaudal gradient of growth (頭到腳的生長速率漸增)生長
   
3. 觀察生長曲線時，每年身高增加量比起每年身高更能看出生長高峰期
4. dental age and skeletal age 不是評估生長的好方法
5. Scammon's curves (maxilla接近neural ; mandible接近general)
